CACFP Compliance Requirements
As a sponsor of the Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP), the Association for Child Development (ACD) has a responsibility to the Michigan Department of Education (MDE) and the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) to ensure that all Child Care Providers are in compliance with state and federal regulations. In order to do this, ACD’s Compliance Department regularly conducts household contacts and reviews of Providers’ files. Results of household contacts and Provider file reviews serve to protect and support all the participating caregivers nationwide. Each fiscal year, ACD provides a copy of Serious Deficiencies to educate and train Child Care Providers about the responsibilities of participation with the CACFP so that they can avoid becoming seriously deficient.
CACFP Reimbursement Process
There are two different rates at which you may be reimbursed- Tier I rates or Tier II rates. The rate at which you are reimbursed is determined by geographic data, your household income, and/or the household income of the children in your care.
